Creating our 2...

We are creating our number 2 out of a foam board, creating layers and sticking them together with glue to make a 3D shape of a number 2. I think we might paint the number two but if we leave it white it will stand out in the colours of the skittles.
Foam core or Foam board is a very strong, lightweight and easily cut material used for themounting of photographic prints, as backing in picture framing, in 3D design, and in painting. It is also in a material category referred to as "Paper-faced Foam Board". It consists of three layers — an inner layer of polystyrene clad with outer facing of either a white claycoated paper or brown Kraft paper.
Materials we used:
2 Foam Boards
1 Knife
1 Ruler
1 Backboard (so we wouldn't mark or scratch the table)

Evaluation...

My stop frame video is a dance, I took inspiration from the Inbetweeners Movie and the dance to 'We speak no americano'. I tried to recreate this in my video, two people carried out the steps and every movement had to be slow so i could photograph every little step to be able to put the video together and make it flow properly. I used a Canon 5D camera to take my photo's, i also used Bowen studio lights when i shot in the studio. I used a plain white background for my video but i edited the video so that it looked like multicoloured disco lights were flashing.
I had a few problems with the camera not focusing, but we managed to get it right so i could take the pictures quicker. We were taking the pictures too quickly which is why the camera wouldnt focus. We also had a few problems with the photo's coming out too dark or too light so we connected a different lighting device to the camera instead of the wire that connected the camera to the lights, i think the wire was loose in the camera but the photo's came out better when we changed from the wire.
My initial idea was to create a music video but i changed it to a dance because it was the easiest thing to do on the day and i was more into the idea of making a dance on the day. My video isn't as good as i'd want it to be or as long as i'd want it to be, but i am happy with the final outcome. If i were to do it again i'd make it more complex and make the time longer. I only shot my video in one day and it only took less than an hour, so i think next time if im more organised and have more time then i can make my video more detailed and less simple. I had to share the camera and the time in the studio with 5 other people so i think this is why i didnt make my video exactly how id want it.
