Stop frame photography

Camera - Canon 5D
Lighting - Bowen
In today's lesson we've been experimenting with stop frame photography, I enjoyed laying out the set and taking the pictures for the video. Everyone worked together to give directions to the person being pictured. We made 3 different video's, one of someone swimming, the other was someone skateboarding and the last one was of someone walking along a road. Every movement for each picture had to be small and people on the side moved objects around, e.g, moving the sun when sammy was being pictured walking. It was our first time in the studio to give us a taster of what we can do for our assignment.

Video 1 - Swimming.
For this video we put blue fabric on the floor for the sea, red fabric for the background and placed yellow fabric in a circle shape for the sun. Two people were either side of the blue fabric to move it in a sea motion as George had to swim. Every movement had to be small so when they were put together it would look like a proper motion video. The photographer had to direct the people on the side and direct the person being photographed. The video consists of 22 photo's.

Video 2 - Skateboarding.
The set for this video was a skate ramp made of orange fabric. I sat on the side of the set and had to move the skateboard as Dylan moved along the ramp. We made the skateboard do jumps and twists, at the end of the video the skateboard flew off the scene. Everyone worked to direct and position things. This video consists of 48 photo's.

Video 3 - Walking.
Sammy had to be in the middle of the shot for this video, we moved the objects around her instead of her having to move across the set. She was directed to move her legs to look like she was walking though. We gave her a prop of a suitcase and had to move this as if she was swinging it when she walked, we also made the sun move across and also the clouds. I took the pictures for this video, it consists of 46 photo's.
