My stop frame video is a dance, I took inspiration from the Inbetweeners Movie and the dance to 'We speak no americano'. I tried to recreate this in my video, two people carried out the steps and every movement had to be slow so i could photograph every little step to be able to put the video together and make it flow properly. I used a Canon 5D camera to take my photo's, i also used Bowen studio lights when i shot in the studio. I used a plain white background for my video but i edited the video so that it looked like multicoloured disco lights were flashing.
I had a few problems with the camera not focusing, but we managed to get it right so i could take the pictures quicker. We were taking the pictures too quickly which is why the camera wouldnt focus. We also had a few problems with the photo's coming out too dark or too light so we connected a different lighting device to the camera instead of the wire that connected the camera to the lights, i think the wire was loose in the camera but the photo's came out better when we changed from the wire.
My initial idea was to create a music video but i changed it to a dance because it was the easiest thing to do on the day and i was more into the idea of making a dance on the day. My video isn't as good as i'd want it to be or as long as i'd want it to be, but i am happy with the final outcome. If i were to do it again i'd make it more complex and make the time longer. I only shot my video in one day and it only took less than an hour, so i think next time if im more organised and have more time then i can make my video more detailed and less simple. I had to share the camera and the time in the studio with 5 other people so i think this is why i didnt make my video exactly how id want it.

My Final Stop Motion Video
This is my final stop motion video, I created it in Windows Live Movie Maker. I added all the photo's into the software in order, then adjusted the speed they played so the pictures flowed more as a video. I added a song and cut it to fit the video, i also added an effect of flashing disco lights that change colour.

Stop frame photography 2
Today we went out and took photo's as if it was a recording, we had to move slightly each time to create the video look. In this video we decided to do a playground theme so i held on to a rotating play thing and lift my legs as if i was spinning around, i did this for every picture and just gradually got around the swing. For the second part of the video Charley and Jordon stood on the zip-wire platform and pictured me running off the platform and getting to the end of wire.
Creating my video...
I put all the photo's into iMovie
Then i edited the speed to make the pictures flow as a video, then added the music.

Ideas...
1- Walking.
2 - Music Video.
3 - Dancing.
I think i'm going to make a music video for my assignment. I'll take experience from the girl's video who did a stop frame video to the song ''Hey soul sister''. She wrote parts of the song on paper and her hands and made it look like they were typing out as the song played. I'm going to do something similar to this, but to a song of my choice.
Song choices:
Nicki minaj ft Rihanna - Fly
P Money ft Anthemic - Magnetic Man

In today's lesson we've been experimenting with stop frame photography, I enjoyed laying out the set and taking the pictures for the video. Everyone worked together to give directions to the person being pictured. We made 3 different video's, one of someone swimming, the other was someone skateboarding and the last one was of someone walking along a road. Every movement for each picture had to be small and people on the side moved objects around, e.g, moving the sun when sammy was being pictured walking. It was our first time in the studio to give us a taster of what we can do for our assignment.
Video 1 - Swimming.
For this video we put blue fabric on the floor for the sea, red fabric for the background and placed yellow fabric in a circle shape for the sun. Two people were either side of the blue fabric to move it in a sea motion as George had to swim. Every movement had to be small so when they were put together it would look like a proper motion video. The photographer had to direct the people on the side and direct the person being photographed. The video consists of 22 photo's.
Video 2 - Skateboarding.
The set for this video was a skate ramp made of orange fabric. I sat on the side of the set and had to move the skateboard as Dylan moved along the ramp. We made the skateboard do jumps and twists, at the end of the video the skateboard flew off the scene. Everyone worked to direct and position things. This video consists of 48 photo's.
Video 3 - Walking.
Sammy had to be in the middle of the shot for this video, we moved the objects around her instead of her having to move across the set. She was directed to move her legs to look like she was walking though. We gave her a prop of a suitcase and had to move this as if she was swinging it when she walked, we also made the sun move across and also the clouds. I took the pictures for this video, it consists of 46 photo's.

T-SHIRT WAR!! (stop-motion music video)
I like how this video uses both people and objects. It is imaginative and creative.
Green With Envy
I like this video and it shows how you could use objects in the video. It has a comedic element to it and can appeal to all ages, because its plastersine it seems easy to do, but the characters and movement in the video is complicated unless you are skilled.
Stop Motion Photographer
I like this video because its based all around photography and its interesting to think how they made the video. It looks very complicated but really effective. It is inspirational and I could take inspiration from this.
Hey Soul Sister (Glee) Stop Motion Music Video
I like how this video shows how it would be easy to make a stop frame video from home, it's imaginative and because its put to a well known song i think more people would watch it. I think i will take some inspiration from this video and incorporate it into mine or use the same style but to a song i prefer.
Transformers-Jazz with a General problem
This video is easy to recognize and understand if you have seen the popular film, Transformers. I like this because its creative and complicated, therefore it makes the video more interesting and makes you want to know how the person made it and how long it took to create.
Her Morning Elegance / Oren Lavie
I like this video because its imaginative and the use of stop frame photography is really complex so it looks good. I would base my video on one like this, but i think its too hard and i think id need a lot of experience.
